re: turn on
Its a reminder for me to turn on.

My name is Oscar Nicholson. I was immersed in MySpace a couple of years ago back when “social networking” became a buzzword. I blogged, commented, joined discussions, shared videos, made friends. I participated. But I became disillusioned by what came to feel very much like high school; an arbitrary popularity contest with little bearing in the real world. I turned my back on it all like the goth kid smoking behind the gym.

This blog is a reminder for me to re-engage with the world. I’m a hermit leaving his cave for the first time in years to return to society. I’m shaving off my bushy beard, taking a bath and reacquainting myself with the basics of personal hygiene. So you’ll have to forgive me for the occasional absence of social grace. But let me know if you think it inappropriate when I COMMENT on your girlfriend’s cleavage or POKE your grandpa’s crotch.

I have a film production company called ON Productions. Producer extraordinaire Anne Robinson and I will be video blogging our trials and tribulations. Behind the scenes of ONgoing productions (those clients brave enough to permit us) from the pitch to the finished product, conception to completion. You can comment, advise and criticize our projects, whether ongoing or completed. Your input might positively influence the outcome of a project. This is also a forum to test ideas. Like mad scientists we’ll be experimenting and want you to join us in the lab. If you have your own experiment you want us to lend our expertise to, just write…
